Real-world GPS manhunt

Your city is the battlefield.

Split into Hunters and Shadows and play on foot across real streets. Radar pulses, a shrinking zone and physical tag-to-tag — no corny gimmicks, just nerve.

Pick a side.

Hunters

Radar pulses show every Shadow's last position for a few seconds, then they vanish again. Close in on foot and follow the compass.

  • Live compass bearing to your target
  • Tag by BLE proximity or NFC tap
Win: tag every Shadow before time runs out.

Shadows

Use your head start to vanish into the city. Stay inside the shrinking zone and keep moving between radar sweeps.

  • Haptic-only "Pocket Mode" alerts
  • Grace bank before an out-of-zone elimination
Win: stay free when the clock hits zero.

The phone referees.

Tap to tag.

Touch phones together or use an NFC tag, or let Bluetooth confirm a sub-4 metre tag with no GPS needed.

Radar pulses.

Shadows broadcast a snapshot on the host's timer. Hunters never see a live, continuously-tracking dot.

Compass.

A live bearing points toward your nearest target, so you always know which way to run.

Shrinking zone.

The safe zone contracts on a world-clock schedule and keeps shrinking even if the host disconnects.

Pocket Mode.

Sound off, buzz on. Alerts arrive as haptic patterns so your hiding spot stays quiet.

Infection mode.

Hosts can let tagged Shadows switch sides and join the hunt, instead of just spectating.

Twenty minutes. No pauses.

An example default match — hosts can change the length, head start and every timing.

Three steps. Then run.

  1. Host.

Pick the arena, set the head start and share your 6-character room code.

  2. Scatter.

Shadows disappear into the city while Hunters wait out the countdown, locked out of tagging.

  3. Hunt.

Follow the radar and compass, close the distance and tag with a touch.

Fair tags. Private matches.

Multiple sensors confirm every tag, and raw coordinates are never sent to Hunters — only distance bands.

NFCPhysical tap-to-tag, works without GPS.
4 mBluetooth RSSI confirms real physical proximity.
≤5.5 mGPS fallback tag range, error-compensated.
3 sHeartbeat sync keeps every client's clock aligned.

Built with Flutter, self-hosted Postgres + PostGIS, Realtime WebSockets, BLE and NFC. Weak signals, impossible jumps and stale locations are filtered out server-side.
